- How many other guests are in the camp? Is our tent away from others? Hoopoe Glamping offers stay for only 5 couples (including family) at any one time. Hoopoe site means secluded own space to enjoy holiday in the nature.
- Distance – where you can flight to? How far is the Hoopoe site from local/modern amenities? The nearest airport is located in Podgorica – 20km far from our site. You can get here by taxi, train or bus. If you need transfer, please mail us and we can arrange it for you. The shops, cash machine, bar and restaurants of lake village Virpazar is 2,5km from us – 5 minutes drive, less than 10 minutes cycle or up to 30 minutes walk.
- Check-in/ Check-out. Check-in is from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Check-out is until 10:30 am. Contact us before your arrival if you can not fit into scheduled check-in/out. We will do our best to make it works!
- Is there Wifi? Charging ports? An electricity and charging ports are in every tent. We provide on the site free WiFi as a standard. Although wifi work perfectly just in common space – restaurant/common terrace. Each tent has it’s own secluded outdoor place where you connect rather with nature than WiFi. If You need an internet, must stay online all the time, consider buying sim card (ca. 15 eur for fast, unlimited internet lasting 15 days) or choosing other place for your holidays. We promote digital detox while in nature with optional, when necessary online spot.
- Does our tent have air-conditioning? There is no air-conditioning in the tent. Our Safari and Bell tents are suitable for summer months. During hot days you may refresh in natural shaded spots and swimming pool. During warm nights the only thing you need is to open your side walls to feel breeze of fresh air that cools best. Each tent is equipped in a fan and heating fan.
- Are there possibility to have breakfast or dinners? We run home stead-like restaurant and each of our guests can enjoy a delicious, Chef’s breakfast (omni or vegetarian) and dinners. Both aren’t included in your night rate but to order separately. While ordering Chef’s breakfast or dinner please note: we follow our vision of sustainability: using organic vegetables and locally sourced products. We charge extra for preparing special breakfast regarding your personal diet plan (gluten free/vegan/lactose free) ESPECIALLY if that diet is based on very specific, imported products that are hard to find in Montenegro.
- Where else can we have a meal? Hoopoe Glamping offers dinners to chose: local tapas, Chef’s menu (everyday new, menu which is made on the site just for our guests – pre order) or chose something a’la carta – available options are being adapted based on amount of guests.
- Is it possible to personalise our experience? We will be happy to make your experience best and do this for special occasion. As Hoopoe hosts, whether is your honeymoon, a proposal, a birthday or any special moment of your life, we can make your occasion catered. An email questionnaire, sent after your booking is done, gives us time to custom your stay with us and discuss further details. All special requires are subject to additional charges. We respond also other special requires (transfer from the airport, guided tours and more can be ordered).
- What other facilities do you offer? Hoopoe’s guest lounge is our communal guest hub with a bar, small library and a rest place. There’s wifi, good music as well as a choice of beverages and some tapas. We have a swimming pool and rest zone as well plenty of organic, shaded spots to enjoy nature.
- How hot/cold it can be? For Skadar Lake area, April/May temperatures range from 18-30C. June/July: 25-35C. August: 27-38C. September: 18-30C. October: 15-25C.
- Are there many mosquitos and other insects? In the Mediterranean, especially close to nature area and the lake, mosquitos are around all season. A repellent and some antihistamine will help. Best is to bring it with you, as there is no pharmacy in Virpazar.
- Is there wheelchair access? Due to the steep access and the uneven surface, Hoopoe is not suitable for basic wheelchairs.
- Can we come with our dogs/ other pets? Hoopoe Glamping offer a huge space to walk, play and run around. We accept pets travelling with our guests but it needs to be notice before making booking. The hosted pets are subject of extra cleaning charges: respectively: 30 eur and 50 eur for Bell Tent and Safari Lodges.
